Sports Fun Announces New Summer Sports Classes for Kids

The summer curriculum includes the following: “Fit-op-poly” – A fitness board game played with over-sized dice, Super Soccer – A unique game of soccer that includes two to four balls during a single game, Wacky Relay Races – Races with the craziest items using everything but the kitchen sink, Personal Fitness Tests – An age appropriate Sports Fun fitness test, based on the presidential Fitness Challenge, Bandana Ball – Teams compete to grab bandanas from their opponents while trying to out run them to the safety line, Kooky Kickball – A game where everyone must handle the ball before stopping the kicker from scoring, Partner Stunts – Teams work together through movement skills, following directions, showing speed and flexibility, Ultimate Frisbee – Throw for distance, accuracy, aim for targets, and Sports Circuit – The circuit consists of 10 or more stations which include the use of sports equipment.

School supervisors in the Pasco County School System were surveyed after their participation with Sports Fun events for kids and reported that Sports Fun staff showed great quality of teaching, knowledge of lessons and time management. The sports curriculum was found to be age appropriate, good in the variety of sports, low in competition with an emphasis on sportsmanship.
